I woke up to the sound of a large bang.
“Can’t somebody get some sleep in this stupid house!” I screamed just as my brother came walking through the door.
“Hurry up you’re late for school” He said so calmly.
I raised my head trying to look at the clock above the door. 8:30!
"Seth why the hell didn’t you wake me up?” I growled at him putting on my jeans.
I put on a black short sleeved shirt and brushed my teeth. I completely ignored the food mom had left out for us and grabbed my baby blue sweater, not that I needed it, just for show. I jumped in the car and sped my way down to school.
God. I’m the only one going to school. Seth, Jacob, Paul, and Jared dropped out. But I wanted to have a career so I was the only one going to school. I got to school just in time for science class. When I came in there were lots of whispers about some new kid. I sighed and sat down at my usual seat, all the way in the back.
All the cheerleaders kept on shooting glares at me and adjusting their hair every five minutes. See you would never find this at La Push School. I never liked going to that school so I convinced my mom to let me go to forks high school. Since all the blood suckers are going to college I can be here in peace.
I know I don’t really have that many friends except Angela and Adrianna. Adrianna had just come to the school and we instantly clicked. She would be here today but she got sick with the flu. So I guess that I'm just here with Angela, as if on cue Angela came with a huge grin on her face, her hair in a low pony tail. She was wearing a nice simple blue shirt with blue worn out jeans. I was always jealous of her eyes. They were a beautiful color green. I smiled back at her. She walked towards our table.
“Oh my god, did you hear?” She asked me
“Hear what?”
“There’s a new boy in school. I’ve heard he’s hot. I can’t wait to see him.”
That’s what all this gossip is about? I rolled my eyes. All this over a new boy.
“Hey you haven’t even seen him so don’t judge”
“Says the person that thinks that he’s the best man on earth, without even seeing him yet”
“Oh don’t get so grumpy, just because you still can’t get over Sam”
As soon as the words fell out of her mouth she knew the mistake she made. Sam Uley broke my heart. No wait. He didn’t break it he stepped on it. He jumped on it. He shattered it into a million pieces.
“I am so sorry Leah. I didn’t mean.”
I quickly nodded not trusting my voice. I could feel tears in my eyes. I quickly blinked them away.
“It’s okay I know you didn’t mean it. But your right I need to get over it.”
I could see the hurt in my best friend’s emerald eyes.
“Angela It’s okay” I reassured her.
We started talking about what we were going to do during the weekend.
“LEAH CLEAR PLEASE REPORT TO THE MAIN OFFICE” Boomed through the loud speaker.
God I rushed to school just to go back home! I waved goodbye to Angela and started to walk down the hallway. God I swear if this is something stupid I will kill Seth. I sighed and closed my eyes
I bumped into something and fell on my butt with someone on top of me.
“I am so sorry” I looked up and saw the most gorgeous pair of icy blue eyes in my life.
“It’s all my fault. I should have been looking where I was going.”
I couldn’t look away from his eyes. I could hear my heart racing. I tried to look away but I just couldn’t. It was like I was hypnotized. I could feel his breath on my neck. I felt a blush rise to my cheeks. I felt my breathing ragged. He got up and helped my up too. I saw his body. He had the emo hair cut. It covered his eyes, if you weren’t really looking at them you would barley see them. He was wearing a nice leather jacket with a plain black shirt under it with a pair of black skinny jeans. I couldn’t seem to look away until I saw all of my books scattered around to floor.
I bent down to pick them up until I saw pale white hands beat me to it.
“T-t-thank you” I stammered as he handed the books to me.
We both just stood there. Looking at nothing and saying nothing. I wasn’t an awkward silence it was comfortable silence. I didn’t notice how long we stood there until I heard...
“Leah! Come on we have to go” God! Could Seth have worst timing? I didn’t want to leave this boy, but I knew I had to.
“Well I should be going. See you later.” His voice was like a melody. I could listen to it all day.
“Bye” I said and reluctantly walked to my brother. I wanted to kill Seth by the time I got to him I was ready to strangle him.
“What was the big emergency that you just had to pull me away from school?” I should have said ‘what was the big emergency that I had to leave mystery boy.
“Jake called in a meeting. Said it was very important.” I sighed and went with him.
I wonder what’s mystery boy’s name? Where did he come from?
There were a million questions buzzing through my head like a million bees. Before I knew it we were at the Cullen’s place. We went inside not even bothering to knock. From the moment we entered Rosaline was shooting glares at us. God like we wanted to be here. It reeks.
Emmet and Jasper were in an intense game of chess. I could see Alice mouthing Emmet’s next moves to Jasper. I rolled my eyes at that. Carslie was nowhere to be seen, as were Edward and Bella
I looked over to the right of the room and saw Jake playing with Renesmee. Of course. He didn’t even notice us come in. I rolled my eyes.
“Yo Jake” Seth called out to Jacob
Jacob looked surprised to see us here. What the hell he told us to meet him here.
“Oh yeah, Alice said she needed to tell us something important.”
Alice stood up from the computer leaving Jasper to win the chess game all by himself.
“We recently discovered that there are vampires in town, but they are not like us.”
“You mean they don’t hunt animals or what?” I asked
“No. They are like the vampires we hear in the movies. They get brunt be sunlight, you have to kill them with a stake through the heart. But we have to be careful around them. I don’t really know that much but all I know is that they are more powerful that us.” Wow I never that those kind of vampires existed. I am perfectly happy hunting down our regular vampires but now we have to hunt down these to.
“Leah I need to ask, are there any new students at the school?”
“No” I immediately responded. I don’t know why but I just felt like I needed to protect this boy. I barley even knew the kid and I was already trying to protect him!
“Leah I need you to go tell Sam about the new vampires” Jake finally spoke up No way. Hell no I refuse to go to Sam’s house. I will never set a foot in there. Not ever again.
“No! I refuse to go” I snapped at him.
“Leah it’s an order” Jake said his tone cold.
“Fine” Was all I said before walking out with Seth right behind me. When we drove far enough away I went and talked to Seth.
“Hey Seth can you go and talk to Sam please?” I pleaded.
“No Jake said no and that’s that” He said. I cannot believe I’m about to offer this.
“I will clean your room for the next week” I bargained.
“Make it two weeks and we have a deal.”
I sighed “Deal.”
That night I went to sleep with mystery boy in my head. I can’t wait for tomorrow…
